Dear Rotary Leaders,
Occasionally an opportunity comes along in Rotary that is just too good to miss. July 28th just may be one of those opportunities.
District 7600 will sponsor a joint Membership/Public Relations Seminar at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College on Saturday, July 28th. The seminar is designed for club officers and other members who want to see their club grow and who believe that their club and their Rotarians deserve to be recognized for the good work they do.
To accomplish our learning goals we have invited an internationally known Rotary membership expert and a professional communications specialist to share their knowledge and expertise.
- Ken Boyd currently serves as Director of Rotary Zones 25 and 26 (western USA) and is the architect of the Ignite program for membership recruitment and retention. His plan has recently been approved by the Rotary International Board of Directors for implementation in various parts of the world. Currently D-7600 is the only district on the East Coast implementing this plan.
- Rachael Beanland is head of Kismet Communications in Richmond. An accredited public relations professional, Rachel has nine years of experience communicating on behalf of non-profits, state government, higher education institutions, and financial services firms.
This is two seminars in one, so clubs are encouraged to send a minimum of two people. We will meet as a group and then split off into a membership module and a public relations module. Why are we doing both seminars at the same time? Because we feel that both issues are linked together and that increasing membership is dependent upon telling our story.
Registration is only $10 (which covers the cost of the refreshments) and the seminar begins at 9:00 am (registration opens at 8:00 am) and the seminar should end around 1:00 pm. To register for the seminar, simply click on this link.
